Furthermore, we present to you our new food delivery schedule, an update on the progress of Jassas the severely injured and abandoned Husky and lots more interesting information.
Clinic closed on April 2nd
Please note that on April 2nd, the clinic will be closed due to the annual cleaning of the air-conditioning. We will be re-opening again on April 3rd.
Internal Parasites
We love and care for our pets. They make our lives more comfortable in many different ways. But as pet-owners we need to be aware of the fact that our dogs and cats may carry parasitic worms. These worms may be harmful to your pet’s health. To protect your pet, it is recommended that every dog and cat is de-wormed at least 4 times a year.
If you would like to read more about internal parasites please click here.
External Parasites
Besides internal parasites, your pet can suffer from external parasites as well.
Ticks and fleas are probably the most common external parasites seen on pets.
Read what else can give you the “creeps”. If you would like to read more about external parasites please click here
We have now covered the most common ecto-parasites and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask us via AsktheVet@abvc.ae or AsktheNurse@abvc.ae

Midnight and Mactoo
Midnight
We received some really nice pictures of 2 cats we recently re-homed named Midnight and Mactoo. Midnight, the grey Persian cat, came to us with a blocked bladder (FLUTD). The lady who owned him couldn't afford to treat him and signed over ownership to us. We treated him and castrated him and then put him up for adoption. He is a Persian cat and has quite the temper! He definitely couldn't go to a family, so we had him for a few months before a lovely couple adopted him.....

Midnight
Mactoo
The same time the nice couple came to the clinic there was a tiny little ginger kitten who had been found. He had more than likely been hit by a car and so we had to do a femoral head excision on him. It was the day he had surgery that the lovely couple decided that they would adopt both Midnight, and the yet-to-be-named little kitty. Mactoo recently had to come back to the clinic for a urethostromy and Midnight missed him terribly! They are the best of friends now and the owners couldn't be happier with their adopted kitties!

Mactoo
If you would like to share your pet adoption, please send your story (preferably with pictures) to Carly@abvc.ae.
