NEWSLETTER NO. 6, Dubai, December 2009

Dear Client,

cats
Welcome to the 6th Newsletter of Al Barsha Veterinary Clinic. We are certain that this newsletter contains useful information for pet owners.

The Holiday Season is rapidly approaching. The clinic is decorated in Christmas style and Santa Claus will be visiting the Clinic on December 18th between 2 – 5 p.m. He will bring a present for all children visiting our clinic that afternoon. Together with Santa Claus, we will have a face painter painting lovely reindeers and little Snowmen and in accordance with the Christmas spirit, the wheel of fortune will spin again (Dhs. 50) for the benefit of all stray animals in Dubai.

Besides being cheerful, the Christmas period brings certain dangers for pets and as a pet owner you will have to be alert on this in order to avoid a nasty outcome. We would like to inform you about possible holiday hazards for your pet(s). Please click here to read what you can do to keep your furry friend safe and healthy during this festive season and to avoid having to make an unexpected trip to the vet.

Pet’s New Years Resolutions - Nonsense?
We don’t think so, just like humans, overweight or obese pets are a danger to themselves and we would like to point out what to do to avoid your pet from becoming obese and how to correct and improve the health of already overweight pets. It is time for you to make this new years resolution for him/her; How to make them LOOSE WEIGHT, and keep the correct balance, and help them have a healthier and therefore happier life. Please click here and read what you can do to improve your pet’s quality of life and what we (the clinic) can do to help you reach this goal.

As an extra incentive to put your overweight pet on a diet, Al Barsha Veterinary Clinic has teamed up with Royal Canin in a weight loss competition. There are some great prizes to be won for those pets that loose the most weight (percentage of total body weight) in a responsible way. A Christmas poem

"Tonight's my first night as a watchdog,
And here it is Christmas Eve.
The children are sleeping all cozy upstairs,
While I'm guardin' the stockin's and tree.

What's that now---footsteps on the rooftop?
Could it be a cat or a mouse?
Who's this down the chimney?
A thief with a beard--- And a big sack for robbin' the house?

I'm barkin', I'm growlin', I'm bitin' his butt.
He howls and jumps back in his sleigh.
I scare his strange horses, they leap in the air.
I've frightened the whole bunch away.

Now the house is all peaceful and quiet again.
The stockin's are safe as can be.
Won't the kiddies be glad when they wake up tomorrow
And see how I've guarded the tree.

Pet Reporter
