Car accident

If you see an animal that has been hit by a car, think of your own safety first and restrain your kids in the car. Park in a safe place.

Now you can go and check on the pet. Be VERY CAREFUL when handling or touching the animal. Friendly animals can become extremely aggressive when they are in shock or painful. Handle the animal with care and try if possible to get it on a stretcher (glossy magazine/cardboard box/ towel between 2 poles). Carefully check it for breathing, any damage to the head, responsiveness and bring it to the vet immediately.

If you call the vet before arrival a team can be waiting in order to give immediate care.
